I had brought a video from the library, called, ‘Wildes Deutschland’, made a few thumbnails while watching this. (rubbed in a little baby oil into the oil pastel with a stiff brush to smear the colors a bit)

Watercolor Journal 
I love these sketches. I will be trying a project in oil pastels shortly and am wondering about the toned paper. Did you put a wash on watercolor paper or did you use pastel paper? I like the tip about baby oil. Thank you.

I used whatever colored papers were lying around, my kid’s papers, wrapping material …. For anything serious I would try either a watercolor wash on pastel paper or store bought toned pastel papers
